Top Aussie cruise liner to make European debut12 June 2007
P&O Australia has announced that the Pacific Princess, one of the most popular cruise liners in Australia, will set off on its first European cruise programme next year.With a relatively small capacity of 670 passengers, the ship will set off for a Mediterranean cruise aiming to take in destinations not often visited by cruise liners, from Albania to Ukraine.
The vessel will join five other Princess Cruises ships to offer a total of 87 different trips to Europe ranging from a week to 23 days in length.
"Pacific Princess has won acclaim from Australian passengers since she pioneered premium cruising from Australia in 2002," the company reports.
It adds that the vessel will be replaced by the Sun Princess in Australia this November, a liner with a larger capacity of 1,950 passengers.
The Pacific Princess has a range of features, including an internet library, eight bars and lounges and two outdoor whirlpool baths, while nine out of ten of its cabins have an ocean view.
