Perth Airport improvements for domestic passengers23 August 2007
Holidaymakers travelling on a domestic break from Qantas will soon be able to benefit from a raft of improvement work at its Perth Airport set to begin at the end of this year.These enhancements will aim to improve aircraft and baggage services, in addition to ensuring the hub will be able to cope with increasing numbers of passengers.
Work will be done to expand the existing check-in area and departure lounge, install additional QuickCheck kiosks, establish a new security screening area and expand the baggage reclaim area.
Curtis Davies, executive general manager of services at Qantas, said: "Perth has experienced strong domestic passenger growth for a number of years due to western Australia's economic growth and the strong performance of the resources sector."
Last month, QantasLink announced that it would increase its Queensland services to deliver over 20 extra flights a week from October 2007 - equal to 1,500 additional seats.
