Bali aims to tempt Aussie travellers
04 November 2006
A group of tourism operators has launched an advertising campaign to attract Australians to pick up their travel insurance and head to Bali.
The Little Bali Hotel & Resort Company (LBHRC) is using the "tongue-in-cheek" slogan and video entitled "Where the Bali hell are you?" to attract Australians to the island.
Current members of the LBHRC include a number of smaller hotel and other accommodation providers based in Bali.
Brett Morgan, co-founder of the LBHRC, said: "What we are trying to achieve with the campaign is to underline just exactly what the Australian tourists are missing.
"Nothing seems to be stopping the Europeans and the north Asians who are lapping up all the bargains this destination has to offer."
The advertising slogan is a parody of a similarly titled campaign launched by the Australian tourism industry launched this year to attract visitors to that country.
Zen Resort Bali recently made a plea to countries in the international community to withdraw their "unjust and unfair" travel warnings on the country, emphasising that Bali is "as safe a place as any in the world of today" and an appropriate destination for holidaymakers, such as those with travel insurance.
