Airline to up Adelaide-Auckland capacity25 May 2007
Holidaymakers that fancy picking up their travel insurance for a short hop to New Zealand may be pleased to hear of an increase in the capacity of a route between Adelaide and Auckland.Air New Zealand has reported strong demand by passengers on this route since its launch last year, prompting this increase, while the firm has also introduced a new route taking holidaymakers direct from Melbourne to Queenstown.
Norm Thompson, group general manager of short haul flights at the airline, has advised Australians to consider trips to Queenstown - usually a popular winter skiing destination - all year round
"Queenstown offers an enormous range of outdoor adventure activities that make it a compelling destination throughout the year," he said.
"There's everything on offer from tramping and trekking to white-water rafting and bungy jumping."
He added that firms are currently investing in new golf courses and hotels in the Queenstown area that may attract those on a luxury break.
Air New Zealand recently announced an expansion of its Pacific Premium Economy on its B747 planes as a result of "strong customer demand".
